What are some great ideas to get your community involved in community service but through student council?

I would love to get our community more involved. With going to districts and stuff I have heard of ideas like a coat drive where people donate coats at football games. Trick-or-Treating for canned goods. The stuco its self raking yards and asking people to pass on the favor. What else could we do?
