What should I do about my hair dilemma?

So basically, awhile back, my hair was dark brown. I wanted it the color of my friend Quincy's hair, so I bought home hair dye, and dyed it blonde without thinking. My hair turned orange. My mom and I waited awhile before we dyed it ash blonde again. So we did, it got lighter, but oranger. So, we did this a couple of times, the color just kept getting a lighter orange. We went to a hair salon, and basically they just highlighted my hair so they wouldn't fry it. The color that they gave me was like golden blonde. I want either platinum or just an ash blonde with some brown in my hair. As the summer keeps going on, my hair gets more orange. I can't go back to a salon but I really want my hair light blonde. I don't even care about my dark roots because surfing just will keep it light. But as of now, surfing is making it oranger. What kind of hair dye should I buy and what process should I go through to get the orange out? I'm not dying my hair back to brunette.
