How can I control my dog's excessive shedding?

I have a Great Pyrenees dog, and she sheds like crazy! Is there anything we can do to help to control this? We bathe her and brush her regularly. And we even bought a Furminator shedding brush/comb/rake, which actually seems to have brought on more shedding (?). Any ideas would be appreciated!
