Uneven Pool Help ASAP?

We have an Intex pool 15 foot wide 4 feet deep. We put it up and have a little water in it and found that about half of the pool is lower than the other. One half is filled about 6 inches and the other is 3 inches or so. I stopped the water and explained to my parents what would happen if we kept it going. I told them we would have to drain the pool and resurface to land but we don't want to have to take it apart and resurface the area, I would like to try and fix it by keeping the pool there, maybe drain the water and just level the ground under the shorter side. Please help we have had this pool sitting in the laundry room (not put together) for 3 years and we finally get it up and its not level enough. We brought in dirt (no rocks or wood) and I spent 2 days trying to level it the best I could, but I guess my rake wasn;t good enough.
